The DAT Optic EF3-D8 is a compact DUAL 3.5" drive metal enclosure with FireWire 800 (1394b) interface provided by the built-in high-performance FireWire 800Mbps(1394b) bridge board with 1394 payload of 4096 instead of 2048, which supports 48-bit sector addressing (138GB+ HDD). With such specifications there are no HDD size or fast data transfer limitations.
Available and ready to ship, our EF3-D8 provides an essential solution and data rates to next-generation storage used in high-end applications, such as audio/video (A/V) editing. Our EF3-D8 offers full FireWire 800 and ATA-7 speeds (800MB/s and 133MB/s, respectively), as well as software RAID 0, 1, support in Win2K, XP or MAC OSx, which is critical for A/V applications.
Any TWO 3.5" HDD (no size limitation) device can be easily, quickly and reliably converted to plug-and-play, high speed FireWire 800/1394b.
