The HP Digital Pen is an innovative way to electronically record written information and fill forms when used with digital paper. The HP Digital Pen is part of the HP Digital Pen and Paper Form Automation System, which allows you to create forms, print patterned digital paper on an HP LaserJet printer, fill forms, and capture that data electronically.

The HP Digital Pen has the following elements:

• Pen Cap. Acts as the on/off switch for the pen.
• Battery and memory LEDs. Provides battery and memory status information.
• Ink cartridge removal hole. Used to change the ink cartridge of the digital pen.
• Reset button. Resets the pen.
• Cradle. Downloads handwritten documents from the pen to the computer.
• Power supply unit (optional). Powers the cradle and recharges the pen when the pen is in the cradle. For pen kits that do not include the power supply unit, the pen is charged via USB when the pen is docked in the cradle.
